Beautiful gou I love you. Caught at Toad Suck Park on the Arkansas River with a worm.

Caught this stringer of bass and bream while canoeing down Cadron Creek. What we thought was a six-mile trip turned out to be ten, but the fish were worth it. Just like on Gilligan’s Island.

Caught this handsome blue cat on a jug line in Lake Conway using goldfish for bait. He was so passive I didn’t even know there was a fish on.

Glistening wet delicious open-mouthed sexy bream.

Zenlizard caught this crappie in the Presidential Wetlands on his lunch break. That’s President Clinton’s wetlands. Tee-hee.

Fishwife contributor zenlizard caught this 3-pound shortnose gar on the muddy banks of the Arkansas. No one else caught anything, except I caught a buzz. Beer and fishing go good together.

We ate the shit outta this fish.
A crappie recipe: Sprinkle fish with olive oil and a little kosher salt. Make a few slits in the side for herb penetration and then rub with spices—you can use prepared fish rub or your own combination of thyme, parsley, and whatever you like. Stuff belly with garlic and whatever fresh herbs you have on hand. Put a few garlic slivers in the holes too. Bake at 425 for thirty minutes.

Mark caught this pair in the pouring rain on Lake Conway—one tasty crappie and a 13.3 pound channel cat. We ate the crappie and let the cat live because its underbelly looked so soft and white.
